"Because conflict is inevitable, but combat is not" TM

Why Choose Higher Ground Mediation?

My passion is to help people come together and solve their problems without letting a judge or jury decide what's "best" for them.  Most parties reach an agreement on all issues in a single mediation session that usually costs less than the attorney fees for one of the parties.

I find that mediation is a ministry to help mend broken friendships and broken hearts.  My goal is to help people see viable alternatives that keep them out of court and resolve their conflict today.  Let's face it, being in court is neither predictable nor is it pleasant.  Judges and juries can do very different things in different cases.  Mediated settlement agreements rarely leave with each party feeling entirely happy, but at the end of the day - it's over.  Even if a party were to win in litigation, who's to say that it won't be appealed?  Mediated Settlement Agreements (MSAs) are rarely overturned.

I am offering my experience to help you resolve your legal disputes in a safe, collaborative environment that will save you time and money and avoid the considerable uncertainty that happens in a trial.  We look forward to working with you.  Please let us know if you have any questions about our services.

Famous quotes about mediation:

Former Chief Justice Warren Berger - "Traditional litigation is a mistake that must be corrected... For some disputes trials will be the only means, but for many claims trials by adversarial contest must in time go the way of the ancient trial by battle and blood. Our system is too costly, too painful, too destructive, too inefficient for really civilized people."

Abraham Lincoln -
“Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can.  Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser – in fees, expenses and waste of time.  As a peacemaker, the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man.  There will still be business enough.”

The Holy Bible - "Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court.  Do it while you are still with him on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown in prison."  While we aren't likely to be thrown in prison over a civil or family matter, the point is that we should make every effort to resolve our own conflicts instead of having a judge, jury, or other civil authority involved.
